I am proud to say that my parents are still happily married.
I have been blessed with a great example of what God intended in marriage.
So it is not surprising that some aspects of their engagement & wedding are inspirations to me.

In my engagement pictures I am wearing my mama's leather jacket that
my dad got her for high school graduation.
I {Love} this picture. My mama is letting me wear her veil. It is undergo a little altering to remove the head band, but I love everything else about it.
There was no question when I got engaged about what veil I wanted on my big day. I have always wanted to wear my mom's veil.
Again, like my mom I am wearing a going away dress.
I recently found and purchased my going away dress and {I absolutely love it}.
My mom also had a parasol. I am not using this idea necessarily, but I think it is darling.
I am thinking about incorporating it in some of the pictures.
As you can probably guess by now, my mom still has hers.
I am not wearing my mama's dress, but I will definitely have a lace dress.
My dress will be vintage inspired. I would also like it to be unique.
For this I am relying on my {bridesmaids} for their opinion.
My parent's cake was very over the top.
My mama told me that it was very carefully picked out and she was very proud of it.
I think every bride has that one thing in her wedding about which she is very particular.
I, however, want a simpler cake. My interests are more in the decor of the wedding.
I am super excited to go wedding dress shopping this weekend. My bridal party is going with me. This group of girls are very dear to my heart and it means so much to me to share it with them. Of course, my mama will be there also. It helps a lot that we share the vision for my wedding and she understands my style. I absolutely {love} her.
Family is of high importance to me.
I am very close to mine and soon there will be an addition to our clan.
Joshua is such a blessing in my life and I cannot wait to be his {wife}.
